Law Enforcement Guidelines

Last updated June 26, 2026

This page explains how Locker Drop responds to law-enforcement requests and what data is and is not available.

What we can provide

For up to 90 days after a transfer, we may hold routing metadata: sender/recipient email addresses provided by the user, sender IP address, timestamps, encrypted file sizes, and a reference to the payment. We will produce this in response to valid legal process.

What we cannot provide

We cannot provide the content of any transfer. Files are end-to-end encrypted; the decryption key never reaches our servers, and encrypted files auto-delete (within 7 days, often sooner). We are technically unable to decrypt files or recover deleted ones. Payment-identity details are held by our Merchant of Record, Polar, and must be requested from them.

How to submit a request

Send valid legal process (subpoena, court order, or warrant) to legal@inbox.locker. Include the specific transfer link or identifier. We require valid legal process and do not disclose user data in response to informal requests.

Emergencies

For requests involving an imminent threat to life or safety, mark your message “EMERGENCY” and describe the situation; we will respond as quickly as we are able.

CSAM

We report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and preserve related records as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.

Notice to users

We may notify affected users of legal requests unless prohibited by law or court order.
